At the 12 February meeting of the Community Foundation's Board of Trustees, long-time President David Ross retired from that office. Replacing Ross is Eva Larson as the new President. Replacing Larson as Vice-President is Risa Littman.
Also at that meeting, the Board endorsed a "yes" vote on Proposition C in the June election. This proposition would extend an additional eight years the existing parcel tax for the operating budget of the Oak Park Unified School District. The Board also authorized the Medea Creek Middle School Parent-Faculty Club and the Oak Park High School Parent-Faculty Club to donate to the campaign supporting Proposition C. Recent discussions at the Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council related to the fact that some homes in our community are now about 40 years old and need or require a variety of repairs. In a meeting with County Supervisor Linda Parks, representatives of the Community Foundation for Oak Park were referred to the Commission on Human Concerns/Community Action for Ventura County, Inc., a non-profit organization which provides a variety of free services for those in need, seniors, disabled, and others.
Information is available regarding free home weatherization services to improve living conditions and provide a safe and hazard free environment.

The Community Foundation's Board of Trustees appointed Oak Park resident Elaine Benditson as its newest member at its 8 May meeting. Ms. Benditson brings to the Foundation experience as both a manager and a volunteer for various other non-profits.
